    Hi,

    If I've got a line such as this in exim_mainlog:

    2007-05-22 01:30:23 1Hq80j-0008M8-5L == sport@coyote2.com R=lookuphost T=remote_smtp defer (-44): SMTP error from remote mail server after RCPT TO:<sport@coyote2.com>: host postmaster.kicks-ass.org [84.16.233.208]: 450 UCEPROTECT-Policy Server decided: 450 (V4.0-RULE-0609) Do we have that user or not? Who knows :)

    How do I tell what user on my server sent the e-mail (or from what e-mail address)?

    Thanks :)

    Run the following command to get the all log entries for this specific email:

    grep 1Hq80j-0008M8-5L /var/log/exim_mainlog

    then look for the log entry with <= . A the right side of <= , you will see the email address who sent the email.
