    Hello I have WHM 8.2.0 cPanel 8.2.0-R28
    RedHat 7.3 - WHM X v2.1

I am using IMAP for one of my sites email accounts and I cant send email half the time.

It works half the time requiring authentication and the other half requires it turned off?? this is very annoying. Im having to switch the account settings each time I send email!

How can I set this so that it ALWAYS requires authentication?

SMTP works fine. This seems to only be related with IMAP.

    Thanks!

    -John

    Dear kipper3d,

This can be done using SMTP AUTH facility in sendmail. Also make sure that you have enabled \"My server requires Authentication\" in your email client. For more information regarding this, refer the URL:

I had SMTP authentication problems as well while using IMAP. My solution was to set up a dummy POP account in my email client and just get it to check for new mail (not download it) every 15 minutes. That allowed me to send from my IMAP account using pop before relay.
