I use Google Apps with some of my domains on a dedicated machine with WHM/cPanel.

I need help understanding how exactly this influences PHP's mailing functions.

Do I need to use Google's SMTP to send notifications, or can I just send them through my server's SMTP?

If I send directly from my server's mailer, doesn't it mean that the email is likely to be flagged as spam, considering that it comes from a server, other than my MX records for that domain show?

I'm not very experienced with MX/SMTP/spam issues, so I would very much appreciate even a good documentation pointer (I've been searching for days, but I'm obviously not hitting the right keywords).

    Thank you!
