Is that normal to have a "sendmail" process in the list of processes?

I noticed these as well. They apparently were spawned up under crond.

'ps auxw' returns this as a command line:
/usr/sbin/sendmail -FCronDaemon -i -odi -oem root

Now /usr/sbin/sendmail is just a link to exim, but why are these jobs here? On my server, I have two: One is 6 days old, the other one day old.

It seems odd to me that these jobs are still running. I think I'll kill them and see what happens. Any further info appreciated.

I had one of those cron jobs too, just appeared after I upgraded to mySQL latest version. Killed it off with no negative effects.
