I had to reset one of my cpanel boxes this morning :(

I'm trying to figure out what happened... the last entry in any of my log files is:

Tue Apr 30 03:29:07 EDT 2002
Using layer2.cpanel.net

... all the other log files seem to indicate normal operation and the last lines the messages log are normal activity.

Any ideas? Have you ever known a server to die like this as a result of a cpanel upgrade? ... it could be unrelated I suppose

I don't know whether this is the same error, but until recently i also had the same error on one of my server. I had posted that here in cpanel support also, some one recommended me to update my rsync package. As whenever cpanel update /scripts/upcp would run, my machine would get hanged up. Fortunately now i have left that company and don't have the problem with my new provider.

Anand

a bug in latest release...

To cpanel support...

Hello Friends,

There is a bug in your new release which have blocked the access to all resellers and clients saying that your cpanel licence is expired while the your authorized reseller burstnet claims that their licence is not expired and this is a bug in your new update which is expected to be fixed soon...

This problem is still on our user and reseller sites for hours now and still we see no solution to it. Burstnet also say that they have no control over it and they need you to solve this problem which may take a day. So what is our fault and why is it happening when we have paid the licence fee ?

Have'nt you tested the new release before letting it go to auto update ??

Please solve this problem as soon as you can because our customers are now thinking that we have gone bankrupt as the licence shows that its expired due to non-payment and they are saying if we don't solve this soon, they will go to some other host...

The problem is not that we are afraid to let them go, the problem is that its turning our good name to worst nightmare...

so please do something fast...

Contact burstnet for more details of this dangerous problem/error...

Thanks...

What's got to do with you? Haider seems to have a grievance related to Cpanel and he happened to be in this thread when he obviuosly saw his own problem related to the topic: the cpanel not functioning. He may be right or wrong in what he thought the cause might be, but that's another matter.

Let's help each other, not question. ;)

There have been no known license problems for a long long time. This is usually the result of a bad route in your routing table or a firewall blocking you from accessing the license server.

We have a problem and is not that. The Cp is reading the wrong IP address. CP seems to see that the ip address of the server is x.x.x.3 but the machine's Ip address is x.x.x.20. We have tried restarting but nothing. What now? Our clients gone mad.. thei cannot read their emails.
