I put a ticket for about 100 machines using NFS for backup (part of Cpanel for more than 8 or 10 years?) Becomes a problem when you are doing backups and NSF server shuts down, or have any connectivity problem.

Kindly referred me to is the internal case 53135, which I do not see bugzilla, (I'm a little short of mind), and basically I wait to be cleared and ask (on the same ticket???) Nephew eel internal status of the case.

Has anyone worked on this issue, and has solved anything?

For my part when the crash occurs, basically I do:

    for backup in `ps aux|grep -v grep | grep backup | awk {'print $2'}`; do kill -s KILL $backup; done
    sleep 5
    for backup in `ps aux|grep -v grep | grep backup | awk {'print $2'}`; do kill -s KILL $backup; done
    umount -f /backup
    sleep 10
    umount -f /backup
    sleep 5
    umount -f /backup
