Hi!
I get the message "Server Error (Internal Error)" at some of my accounts. If I create a new email at the same account it works fine. When I switch to Horde it works fine. It doesn't happens to all my accounts-domains. Some of them works fine with roundcube and some others not. The problem appears only when I click "Inbox"

Hey there! Do you see anything useful in the main cPanel log at /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log or /var/log/maillog when you perform that function? Those are the two most likely places for that actions to show something helpful.

I found out that the problem was a malicious bank phising email. Every account that has received this email faced this problem. When I deleted the specific email everything went back to normal.

Hi,
We are facing the same issue with random 500 internal server errors only at inbox . The cpanel error log reports

[webmaild] Internal Server Error: "POST /cpsess8023454229/3rdparty/roundcube/?_task=mail&_action=refresh HTTP/1.1" 500 Internal Error (ID 250179687355743)
cpanel::cpsrvd::cgiHandler("app", "php", "document", "./3rdparty/roundcube/index.php") called at cpsrvd.pl line 7227
cpanel::cpsrvd::phpHandler("document", "./3rdparty/roundcube/index.php") called at cpsrvd.pl line 6275

I tried the /scripts/upcp --force but we still see errors here and there. If @staboul is correct and a malicious email is causing the 500 error some of our clients probably switched to horde and deleted it.
In this case the question is why an incoming mail is causing roundcube to throw these errors.

To check if the problem is a malicious email I suggest that you should try this. If the problem at the inbox of [email protected] create an new email at [email protected] . Check if this work. If it work probably you have the same issue like mine. Second test is to download locally all the emails from the emails from [email protected] , delete the account and create it from scratch. Before uploading back all the emails check if it works. If it works and you upload the emails and you start getting again internal errors then definitely you have the same issue like mine.
