Server Information shows wrong speed processors

    Hi,

    I'm running a dedicated intel 1245 v2 server 4 cores 8 threads, that has a 3.4 normal frequency and 3.8 turbo boost frequency.

    In WHM Server Information the maximum speed shown is alwaysa 3.4 and never more, even if the server is under heavy load.

    I checked with the hosting company and they said that Turbo Boost is enabled in the Server BIOS and send me a check they did:

    So I think there must be something related to WHM.

    So I forced a cPanel reinstall, but nothing changed.

    Is there anything I can do to solve this?

    Hi, look this: Intel Turbo Boost - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
    This is not a due from cpanel, your processor is 3.4 GHz, you will use 3.8 GHz only when your OS request.

    Yes, please review the link from the previous post regarding the processor. Also, I just want to add that it's often a better idea to address the issue before reinstalling your OS and cPanel.

    Thanks for the answers.

    I have 2 identical servers intel E3 1245 v2, one at Hetzner and the other at OVH, both with turbo enabled on BIOS.

    The first one NEVER shows turbo speed on WHM Server Information even if with i7z or other monitors (as the one in my first post) I can see that turbo is running.

    The server at OVH on the contrary shows always on WHM Server Information the correct turbo speed when turbo si running.

    I stressed the cpu load at 8 and even more, but in cat /proc/cpuinfo and WHM Server Informations showed all 8 cores running at 3401 MHz, never much than this value.

    The output you provided shows that each server has different information in the /proc/cpuinfo file, which is where cPanel obtains the data from. You will need to consult with your data center if you believe the information in /proc/cpuinfo is not valid. EX:

    Hi Mr-Georgia,

    my Hetzner server is an intel E3 1245 v2 - 3.4 /3.8 turbo with HT

    my cpu load is normally very low 0.40 / 0.80
    7 cores normally have 1.6 speed and 1 has 3.4 speed.

    With these cpu load ( 0.40 / 0.80 ) is better to have all cores at 3.4?
