Server Keeps Crashing

For the last couple of days my CentOS 5.8 (64-bit) server that is running cPanel & WHM has been crashing.

What I've noticed is that these two lines always show up a couple of seconds before the crash:

Jan  4 20:05:03 cl-57 pure-ftpd: ([email protected]) [INFO] __cpanel__service__auth__ftpd__KiF63c5FtxieMGpP4x2g2HOEgwJGKfd632fas5226v26vaGGF5gMoyN_0I2f353MkD is now logged in

Also, I get an email saying that the "IMAP has failed" right after the server has been rebooted (after the crash) and after a couple of seconds I receive a "IMAP has recovered" email.

I haven't setup any cronjobs so that can't be causing the problem.
I also reloaded the whole server with a fresh copy of CentOS 5.8 (64-bit) so all WHM settings are set on the default settings.

Does anyone have a clue why the server is crashing every now and then?

I checked again.
It seems as though this always appears before the server crashes.

Does anyone know what's causing the crash?

The IMAP failure messages are likely just connected to the reboots (the service is failing when it crashes/reboots). What is the server load like when it crashes?

Are you getting any load warning e-mails from cPanel? Also, do you have MRTG or Munin installed to show you a load history? Failing that, just running top or checking your load averages within WHM should give you a rough idea as to how highly loaded your server is

I've checked the load averages and nothing special shows up except a few top processes that have taken around 150% of the CPU power.

I'll go ahead and download Munin now.
