server load - cron.php

    Hello,

    We have observered that server is taking load due to cron.php which is cpanel cron setup in crontab.Here is top process-

    =============
    12337 root 25 0 15092 7512 2024 R 96 0.4 198:38.01 /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/php cron.php
    ==============
    here is cronjob setup on server

    39 18 * * * cd /usr/local/cpanel/whostmgr/docroot/cgi/fantastico/scripts/ ; /usr/local/cpanel/3rdparty/bin/php cron.php > /dev/null 2>&1

    ==================

    Please let us know why this cron is taking load on server and how to control load when this cron start?

    i noticed this too. this seems something related to fantastico but i don't know why it takes so much load. i think the issue should be raised with the netenberg developers of fantastico.

    I had this many times lately but not on many servers. I just killed the process and removed the auto update / cron Ill just update it manually once in a while.
