Recently I changed my Apache settings to use suHosin, after doing this my server loads have been in the 40+ range. Has anyone else had this problem?

To clarify, are you referring to adding only Suhosin to an existing PHP configuration, or are you referring to switching to suPHP as the Apache PHP request handler (or both)?

Are there any other Apache modules or PHP extensions/modules added other than the stock-default (as installed when rebuilding via EasyApache)? If there are a large number of additional modules this may contribute to excessive processor and memory resource usage.

I recommend checking what processes are consuming the most resources during the period of higher load to help identify possible causes; here are a few commands that should help for monitoring via root SSH access:

    For Linux (RHEL/CentOS):
    Code:
    # ps afuxww
    # top -c

    For FreeBSD:
    Code:
    # ps auxww
    # top -a

Yes, suHosin and after even taking out suHosin it is still high. Something changed, because before I added in suHosin this wasn't happening.

EDIT: Now the load is in the 10+ range.

No thats horrible unless he has 10 core CPU.

    1 cpu = load 1.0 or less

    2 cpu = load 2.0 or less

    4 cpu = load 4.0 or less

    and so on ......
