Hi All

Not sure if this is the right place to post this. :)

I have a server which runs a small number (5) of sites, with one site doing about 200 Gig of Xfer per month, the rest are about 15 Meg.

About every couple of weeks the server goes into melt down with the load averages very high. The last time hitting 87.36,101.75, 121.79. It is usually running between .5 and 2 for all of the load averages.

I would like to try and find out what is causing this as the only way to clear it is reboot the server.

Can some one point me in the direction of the best logs to see what is happening.

Thanks.

Hi,

You can check dcpumon logs at "/var/log/dcpumon/" for load snapshots, You can check which process was causing load.

Also if server is going down at same time everyday you need to monitor it for that time frame.

Also check if multiple cronjobs are causing load on CPU.

I hope this helps !

Basically what I think is this might cause due to any certain specific cron job as because the time frame of load issue is fixed so there are higher chances of this case.

because of it to get exact reason, I would recommend you to keep your eyes on server during that specific time frame. I hope it will definitely help you.
