    Hi,

Due to our server housing company closing at the end of the month, we are on the process of moving everything we have on a new server, on a new IP.

I am wondering if and how I can move the licence we have to the new server, and how to do it smoothly so that no one of our client will experience a downtime.

Please tell me :/ We just have been informed about the data center being closed, and have to act quickly :(

    Thanks,
    L. Riem

You need to contact either your cPanel license provider if you use a reseller, or cPanel directly if you bought it from cPanel. You should be able to update your licensed IP in your cPanel store account.

    Thanks, I found the option.

Now, as for the licence in itself. When I will transfer the licence to the new server, will I still be able to transfer the data from the old server to the new one, and the old server to serve requests till the DNS have propagated completely?

What exactly happen to a old server when you transfer the licence to a new one?

    Up...

I am unsure, what is the best way to proceed. Should I get a 15 days license for the new server, transfer everything from one cpanel to the other, and then move the license to the new server?

That would be a sensible way of doing it, yes.

Thanks Chirpy. I will then do it that way.
