I know this topic has been covered ad nauseum, but I'm getting ready to do a server migration and wanted to get some feedback on my plan.

I have a server with 30+ accounts and it also has 2 nameservers: ns1 and ns2.

    My plan is as follows:

    - purchase and setup/configure new server
    - create same 2 nameservers on new server

    - lower dns ttl for domains on old server

    - multiple account transfer (excluding home dir)

    - rsync home dir's

    - one by one, point old dns to new server ip & do a final rsync & db dump/load
    - verify

    - when all accounts are transfered and tested, change ip of nameservers with registrar

If all of my assumptions are correct, everything should work. ;)

Because the old server is so old, I was planning on doing all of the cPanel/WHM configurations by hand, 1) to refresh my memory and 2) make any improvements.

Are there any major flaws in my assumption or better ways to handle the migration?
