I currently use a dedicated server that uses CPanel, and am looking at moving to a different provider. They do not have any CPanel licences, so it would be up to me to purchase one.

This presumably would make a migration very simple, as currently I have reseller accounts, databases etc., and transferring one account at a time would be a nightmare.

I note that I would have to purchase the Pro version, however I cannot work out why CPanel charge $1200.00 plus, whereas other 'partners' offer it at under $50 per month.

Can anyone advise me of the best route to take with this scenario?

You have two options, either to find a different host which provides the cPanel with their servers, or rent a cPanel license from one of the providers. Google and you'll find companies out there where you can rent a license for $35 - $50 per month. Good luck!

Also note those are two different charges. Your $50/month charge is indefinite... it doesn't end until you cancel.. you're renting the license.

The $1200 is a one-time, never pay again, you bought it it's yours deal.
