server name?

There was a post on the forums some time ago about this but for the life of me i can not find it..

Someone posted a perl script that would get the &servername& from the full hostname such as:
craig.hisserver.net

and from this it would pull the &craig& part.

I was wondering if anyone had this script? If so, can post it

There is already a cpanel tag to retrieve the hostname.. just not the servername alone (I don't think)...
