Hi,
We have been having this issue since few weeks now and were unable to fix either by us or our linux sys admins HIRED to assist us...
I am running CentOS7 on a VM and there we are osting our clients with cpanel + WHM, i have noticed from time-to-time all my clients domain become unreachable and whm itself too !!
When i check our VM it was up and running but we had to reset the VM in order to access WHM back again and that was very frustrating for both us and our clients and unacceptable for many !!...
We have requested our admins to perform server hardening (several times by different admins) but unfortunately this problem is getting even worse since 3 days exactly, one thing i did was to give that VM a dynamic memory ranging from 12 to 48 GB, and lots of CPU cores, to my surprise, i found that the VM went up to 41 GB of RAM and am 100% sure that's abnormal as we have less clients and no way they could consume those resources, by the time the VM consumes so much RAM WHM goes down and all our domains are unreachable, i suspect something is causing this huge usage, maybe memory leaks ? bots ? attacks of some sort ??...
I would appreciate help in this regards as we are running out of time and effort trying to get to the bottom of this problem and so far we keep rebooting the server whenever this occurs that's all we can do !...
Thanks,
