I have a script on my server which allows me to make announcements that I can backdate, postdate or date current to display to my users. However, if I put the current date and time, it doesn't display. I have to backdate it in order for it to show up. So I assumed there's some issue with the server time. However, the host told me that the server is EST and that's where I am too.

I even added date.timezone="America/New_York" to php.ini and that is reflected correctly in phpinfo.php. So is there some other reason this would be happening?

How are you putting the current date and time in the script? Are there any errors in the site's error_log when trying to set it that way?
