    Hi there

First: Sorry for posting this message but we really search for the right solution and you guys maybe can give us a nice hint!

We were assembling our systems on our owen. We don't want to do this anymore. The reason is that our system didn't work fine. Some does and some not. We don't believe that it is a hardware failure cause the was no problem to see in the logsfiles, etc. We used a very nice controller, SCSI Harddisk and an ASUS Serverboard with two Intel CPU's. The load was not more than 2. We use Red Hat 7.2. We would like to buy now servers from IBM, Compaq or Dell. The Problem is we really don't know which of them are the best solution for about 600 customers on each server. We use the WHM/Cpanel for this clients. IBM and Compaq Servers are a bit more expensive than the Dell Servers.

Actually we took a look at this Dell server:

I hope there are some guys who also had once the same problem as we do right now.

    Thanks a lot!

    We are clearly biased...but...

We use Dell for just about every server. In fact we sell Dell to about just every client (web hosting and our consulting customers). The 1650 is a very nice machine for hosting. It has scored very well in PC Week testing with Dual CPUs. We have had great luck with Dell and have very little bad to say about them. What we can say bad is trivial.
