This is a very strange problem and would appreciate any gurus out there to help, if possible.

We have a server and a VPS, say A and B.

Server A has csf installed and VPS B has no firewall at all.

When we try to PING as root on EITHER server, NONE of them can ping each other but they BOTH work fine if we PING other servers which we have.

Apparently, either A or B is blocking each other and since only server A has csf, we added the VPS B to its allowed lists but its still not working.

    Any ideas?

    Did you check csf's logs?

The funny things about this is that it should be a one-way problem which would be easier to track but as it is,

WHATEVER A does, ie:ping, ftp or wget to B or B to A, they ALL DONT WORK!

ANY OTHER servers with us, to and from A or B DOES WORK! LOL

Whatever A to or from B, its always returning TIMEOUT error.

    Checking the logs now.

    Latest update:

We disabled iptables on BOTH servers and the result was the same, they dont like each others.

Anywhere else we can disable more things?
