service apache stop - Not working

    When I use this command; service apache stop, I receive the following error message; bash: service: command not found. Does it appear I am doing something wrong, thanks in advance. p.s. I am logged in at root level.

    I believe it's service httpd stop

    I tried that as well and it did not work, does it make a difference that I am running Fedora.

    /etc/rc.d/init.d/httpd stop
