Waiting for cppop to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished.

cppop status

couriertcpd is disabled

Service: [cppop] has been disabled by the sys admin

After upgrading one server to the latest release I get this. POP is enabled int he service manager. Any ideas on where I can check to insure it is labeled as active?

If you're using the maildir mailbox format, try: /scripts/courierup --force

I tried that and it didn't work. Enabling IMAP allowed cpop to start.

Same problem here this morning. As suggested above, enabling IMAP in WHM-Service Configuration-Service manager allowed pop to restart.

/scripts/courierup --force
/scripts/eximup --force
/scripts/upcp --force
/sbin/service cpanel restart

...didn't help.

Thanks Mucho

what's going on here?

POP server offline since 6 hours now.

The now the Server Support company
I hired didn't even bother to look into the issue,
not to mention that they'd have DETECTED it as advertised

Anyway, digging around in this crap for one hour now found this post.

AND IT WORKS !!!

THANKS MUCHO GUYS!

I had the same problem after a cpanel update tonight. Going to WHM > Service Manager and enabling imap was the only way to get it POP3 to start again. Once the POP server was up and running again, I was able to go back and disable IMAP and POP still seems to be working normally. Weird bug.
