After upgrading to WHM 10.6.0 cPanel 10.8.0-S59 it seems that there is some problem with my name servers.

When I try to create restart the service via WHM I get this:
    --------------------------------------------------------------------
    Attempting to restart named
    Waiting for named to restart.... . . . . . . . . . . finished.

    named statusnamed is disabled

Service: [named] has been disabled by the sys admin
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

Also, wehn I try to setup a new account, I get this:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
Warning the DNS MASTER system is depreciated
and will not be supported in new releases.
You should switch to using clustering for DNS.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

And the new domains don't resolve. BAsically I can't setup any new accounts!

    Any help out there?

    Thanks!

Did you check that named is indeed enabled in WHM > Service Manager?

You're right, the named service was not enabled in Service Manager. Why would the automated upgrade do this? My nameserers were down until now!

There still is the other problem there though - when I try to setup a new account via WHM I still get that warning and it look slike the new accounts don't have a zone file created.

    Any ideas why is that?

    Thanks for your help.

It probably happened because it wasn't enabled before the upgrade and the new version of chkservd has been rewritten as has the accounts creation script to not create zone files if named is disabled - which is a good thing in itself. You'll have to add the zone files manually through WHM if they're missing.

I'm positive that the named service has been enabled before the upgrade. If it was not, the websites would not be resolving. The WHM upgrade disabled them for some reason.

I still get the warning when setting up new accounts:

    --------------------------------------------------------------------
Warning the DNS MASTER system is depreciated
and will not be supported in new releases.
You should switch to using clustering for DNS.
    --------------------------------------------------------------------

    Thanks.
