    Hey guys,

As of a few hours ago a lot of services are reporting as failed on all our cpanel machines.

Spamd is the main one, also exim, apache, but yet websites are still up.

Its very strange, the main problem is all email going thru spamd isnt getting thru.

I'm presuming this is because of a recent/overnight upgrade to cpanel as all 5 of our cpanel machines have identical problems.

    Please advice asap!

    Thanks

    root@webby [~]# service chkservd status
    chkservd (pid 4360) is running...

    I've restarted it anyway.

No change to the service status page though.

    imap failed
    mysql (4.0.24-standard-log) up
    clamd up
    apache (1.3.33 (Unix)) failed
    cppop failed
    eximstats up
    exim (exim-4.50-1_cpanel_smtpctl_av_rewrite_mm2_mmmtrap_exiscan_md5pass) failed
    cpsrvd failed
    bind (9.2.5) up
    ftpd failed

    :/

    Have also restarted the machines.

Its like certain services keep restarting themselves, such as apache as it says failed but yet all sites are up and working.

The main problem is spamd as anyone with spamassasin enabled is not getting any emails, ive sent out a notice for now telling people to disable spamassasin so there email works...

    Sorry;

    WHM 10.1.0 cPanel 10.2.0-R82
    Fedora i686 - WHM X v3.1.0

    Thats what we're currently on.

No idea what we where on before this morning, its all auto update so I dont keep a close eye on versions really.

Are there significant messages in any of these logs ?

    /usr/local/cpanel/logs/error_log
    /usr/local/apache/logs/error_log
    /var/log/maillog
    /var/log/exim_paniclog

We have a Server with the exact same specs and no problems. Mind you, we do not run SpamAssassin either -- just too many problems with it.

I would suggest you switch (at least one Server) to using Current or Edge to see what happens. Or disable SpamAssassin and watch your Server load go waayyy down. ;)
