Problem: I keep getting these failed lights in the web host manager:

    bind (9.2.1) failed
    eximstats failed
    mysql (4.0.18-standard) failed
    syslogd failed

It seems everything is working its just that the lights in the service status are red and I keep getting the failed emails sent to me constantly.

Any clue what to check? I have tried everything the last 2 hours, Thanks

    Try this in shell:
    /etc/rc.d/init.d/chkservd restart

That will restart the service monitoring which is sometimes needed.

iam experiencing the same thing from today. iam running 9.0.0. R 44

Further more iam just in process of upgrading to latest STABLE. In update preferences I checked manual STABLE to upadet to but update is going to latest RELEASE and it is going for 30 or more minutes now and counting !!!!

What to do if it stays blocked in any step of the way? now it is at 40 %

I had the same problem earlier. It seems that the update screens halts when the service monitor sends out its email's. I waited about 30 minutes and it still didn't move from 40%.

Close the browser and relogon to WHM. You should see it has finished and the new version is running...

    Hope this helps!

I am having a problem with my syslogd.

Under the status page it's being displayed with a red dot as failed.
can anyone point me in the correct direction?

    Thanks in advanced!

    /var/run/chkservd

Should be having files which /etc/chkserv.d/ is basically monitoring and restarting in case dead. If the corresponding file in /var/run/chkservd directory is not there but the service is running (as you say) then in WHM it would show as FAILED.
