/scripts/servup reports that exim, ftpd, and imap have a status of "Failed". I can FTP into my server.

I'm not sure about exim or imap (as I'm having email issues that I'm going to make another post about), but why does ftpd say it's down if it isn't?

Service checks are done every 5 minutes so if the service was previously down and then was restarted, it may still show as down.

You may wish to check /etc/chkserv.d/$service to make sure that the commands listed in that file output the expected results.

for example, /var/chkserv.d/exim notes that the QUIT command is sent to port 25 and the expected result matches 220. If the result doesn't match '220' when you telnet to port 25 and type 'QUIT', chkserv.d may think exim is down.
