I just recieved my confirmation e-mail for my server. And I can upload files through cpanel. But to upload cgi it must be in ASCII Mode. I need to set up my ftp client, I was sent 3 different passwords and 2 different user ids, the FQDN, and the IP.

My question is which is the server name, user id, and password, and port used to connect to the site. I think I may be missing something. It can not be this confusing just to set up an ftp client.

Your host can provide that information for you. This is actually the cpanel support site for the program that your host uses. Chances are you can use ftp://yourhost.com but if that does not contact them.

If you setup your FTP client using the same domain/user account/password as you do to log in to your cpanel it should work (the domain only no ports or directories).

If it doesn't, you should contact your host for support.
