    Hi,
I have one Cpanel server running DNS BIND 9, OS linux. I have set it to be a DNS server to resolve PTR issues. I'm wondering whether my settings are correct.

the server is under a router (public IP: 64.62.250.86) with local IP tobe 192.168.1.2
my resolve.conf is set to be like:

    nameserver 64.62.250.86
    nameserver 65.19.175.20
    nameserver 216.218.196.20

I use WHM to set nameserver to be ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com (both are registered nameservers) and enable NAMED.
    I forward domaintest.com to ns1.domain.com and ns2.domain.com, created host.
INITIALLY the DNS zone file is like this

    domaintest.com NS ns1.domain.com
    domaintest.com NS ns2.domain.com
    domaintest.com A 192.168.1.2
    domaintest.com MX domaintest.com.
    mail.domaintest.com CNAME domaintest.com.
    www.domaintest.com CNAME domaintest.com.
    ftp.domaintest.com A 192.168.1.2

It didn't work that way. However, if i changed 192.168.1.2 to its public IP 64.62.250.86, and then it eventually works!!!

something has gone wrong here? why it shouldn't work immediately.

    thanks so much
