I need to be able to set the DISPLAY environment variable for whichever user it is that is running tomcat. I've integrated tomcat and cPanel using the helpful scripts.

I am able to call my servlet normally, however I need to set the DISPLAY environment variable because I've got code in my servlet that connects to a dummy terminal (Xvfb), but it attempts to connect using the wrong value for the DISPLAY variable. I know this is convoluted, but there are actually quite a few people that have tomcat set up in this manner so that they can do server side image manipulation.

    I'm running Rehat 9.

    Can anyone help with this?
