    Hi all,

    We're about to take our first cPanel server into production but I am running into some errors while setting up the DNS for the server.

    Oke, I did the setup wizard en filled in the NS I wanted to use. Assigned the IP's and made the record. My zonefile seems to be correct. The problem is that when I try a nameserver check I get the following errors:

    errors=2, warnings=0, informational=0

    * domain netrouting.nl.

    * nameserver ns1.netrouting.nl./217.170.19.157

    E server unreachable or timeout (status: 'Connection refused')

    * nameserver ns2.netrouting.nl./217.170.19.154

    E server unreachable or timeout (status: 'Connection refused')

    I am pretty much out of ideas, I checked the named.conf file and the .db as well..

    If anyone is willing to help out that would be highly appriciated.

    Kind regards,

    Savvas

    From the following there is no indication that ns1.netrouting.nl is authoritative for netrouting.nl.

    Found NS record: ns2.ep-networks.nl[217.170.19.156], was resolved to IP address by ns.ripe.net
    Found NS record: ns1.ep-networks.nl[217.170.19.155], was resolved to IP address by ns.ripe.net
    Domain has 2 DNS server(s)
    DNS server ns2.ep-networks.nl[217.170.19.156] is alive, but not authoritative for domain 'netrouting.nl' and didn't return SOA
    DNS server ns1.ep-networks.nl[217.170.19.155] is alive, but not authoritative for domain 'netrouting.nl' and didn't return SOA

    Thanks for your response.

    The domain was running on the ns1/ns2.ep-.. dns but I am about to move this domain to my cPanel server. The problem is ns1/ns2.netrouting.nl don't seem to be set up well in any way, I am out of ideas....

    Help? anyone?

    In advanced thanks.

    Kind regards,

    Savvas

    This may sound silly, but did you create A records for your name servers? You will also want to make sure that the zone is correct, as stated by the SOA errors, the name server does not appear to be the primary for the domain, as if its supposed to be pointing somewhere else . . .
