Hello,

I've just setup a VPS. The VPS has one domain, and it will remain that way. The VPS has only 1 ip allocated to it, and shows as 'shared' when I check the ip's of the server.

My question is, can I make this primary IP a dedicated ip address for my only domain on this VPS somehow? I will not be putting other domains on this VPS, just this one, and right now it shows it as "shared".

Thank you!

Hello :)

It's considered a shared IP address because it's configured as the main shared IP address of the server. Is there a specific reason you need it to show up as a dedicated IP address?

Thank you.

Well I wasn't sure if this would still be counted as a dedicated IP to the search engines for hos domain. SEO purposes. Thanks Michael!

It would still be considered a dedicated IP address for that purpose because no other websites would be assigned to that IP address.

Thank you.
