Our college recently got the cpanel software under the educational license program.

After successfully installing cpanel and whm and making sure that all the servers are up and running, we are stuck on one problem.

We have 1 box and 1 public IP (say associated with it.

We want to host 2 domain names on the same IP. This can be done using virtual host and this is not the problem. The problem is DNS.

We have BIND up and running and the primary name server is the same IP ( However the host name assigned to it does not resolve to our server IP. We have changed the A record of the domain name to our college server IP (

So when we type we reach the default cpanel page. However we wish to change the DNS record of this domain name to our server IP. But since the host name assigned to our nameserver does not resolve to our public IP(, will changing the DNS entry at registrar work. The DNS zones on the server have been created.

Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated.
