    Under DNS Functions, Setup Mapping (Last Icon in that menu) --> Where are the details stored? Which filename to be precise?

    TIA

    No One using this feature ?
    I am using it extensively, using mod_vhost_alias with domain mapped to subdomain through this but really can't trace where the entries are going. So need information on this...

    TIA

    The last icon I see is
    Setup/Edit Domain Forwarding

    That information is stored in /var/named/somedomain.com.db and in httpd.conf and in the /var/cpanel/users/userid file. Not sure if anywhere else as well.

    /var/named/somedomain.com.db Has the detail of the mapping IP
    httpd.conf has the enbtry for the IP has included by above
    /var/cpanel/users do not have the username

    Let me clarify.

    I add a dns zone

    somedomain.tld IP =xx.xx.xxx.221 <-- this is the IP on which all Forwarding Mapping is set (as prompted by WHM when the First Time Setup was done) for which httpd.conf has following:

    <VirtualHost xx.xx.xxx.221>
    BytesLog domlogs/xx.xx.xxx.221-bytes_log
    ServerName xx.xx.xxx.221
    ServerAdmin root@localhost
    DocumentRoot /dev/null
    ScriptAliasMatch .* /usr/local/cpanel/cgi-sys/domainredirect.cgi
    </VirtualHost>

    Then i click on the last icon under DNS and do the following:

    somedomain.tld ==> http://www.someusername.primarydomain.tld
    *.somedomain.tld ==> http://www.spmeusername.primarydomain.tld

    primarydomain.tld's zone file has a wildcarded DNS pointing to xx.xx.xxx.213

    typing http://somedomain.tld or http://www.somedomain.tld takes to the subdomain site

    The subdomain runs through mod_vhost_alias block in httpd.conf which looks like this:

    <VirtualHost *:80>
    UseCanonicalName Off
    VirtualDocumentRoot /home/something/%-1/%-2/%-3
    VirtualScriptAlias /home/something/%-1/%-2/%-3/cgi-bin
    User something
    Group something
    php_flag engine off
    </VirtualHost>

    No cpanel user is created anywhere for somedomain.tld. user something group something is created from ssh and common for all accounts hosted in such a way.

    Each somedomain.tld user has access to ftp space with auth against data stored in MySQL (using modified pure-ftpd of cpanel to also have Mysql Auth scheme in addition to the default one)

    What i was searching for and am looking for is where is the following data stored?

    somedomain.tld ==> http://www.someusername.primarydomain.tld
    *.somedomain.tld ==> http://www.someusername.primarydomain.tld

    I could not find this info anywhere in the locations specified.

    Any Clue?

    TIA
    Anup

    Go on, have a guess
    Just had a play and found it in:

    /var/cpanel/domainmap

    If that is what you are after?
