This is being repeated on a daily basis (as setup.noarch is not updated at all) on all our cPanel servers.
Any one had this too and solved it?

Thanks.

Hi,

Thanks for responding.
I know this has to do with /scripts/upcp/ executing yum, but because this problem is occurring on all our cPanel servers, someone must have seen this error too and already dealt with it...

Using :
Code:
WHM 11.23.2 cPanel 11.23.6-S27698
CENTOS Enterprise 4.7 x86_64 on standard - WHM X v3.1.0

If you install the RPM manually (e.g. yum install setup) does it complete? Does yum then still attempt to install it during upcp?

Hi Kenneth,

Thanks for your reply. The same problem applies to the manual process.
It says it's been upgraded while it has not :

Hi lngtanseco,

Thanks for your reply. Hereby as requested :

Code:
[~]# ls -l /etc/csh.cshrc
-rw-r--r-- 1 root root 675 Aug 22 2005 /etc/csh.cshrc
[~]# lsattr /etc/csh.cshrc
----i-------- /etc/csh.cshrc
Regards.

Please do:

Code:
chattr -i /etc/csh.cshrc
Then do

Code:
lsattr /etc/csh.cshrc
this should give you
Code:
------------- /etc/csh.cshrc
Now, try again,

Code:
yum install setup
if it spits out errors similar to what you had earlier, then just do 'chattr' command to the file in error like what you did above.

Hi lngtanseco,

It responded with the same error for the file /etc/csh.login. After removing the "immutable bit" for that file too the upgrade seemed to go fine, except for some warnings :

Code:
# yum install setup
Setting up Install Process
Setting up repositories
Reading repository metadata in from local files
Excluding Packages in global exclude list
Finished
Parsing package install arguments

Does something need to be changed afterwards or is the upgrade done this way?

Thanks for helping me out.
