I have a dedicated vm for our database operation. I am confused as to what needs to be done in 'Home > SQL Services > Setup Remote MySQL Server' to accomplish this.

Setup goes something like this :

server.example.com (where WHM is)
IP: 111.111.111.111 NAT'd > 192.168.10.3

db.example.com (all database)
IP: 222.222.222.222 NAT'd > 192.168.10.2

It appears WHM assumes you will always use a public IP for this setup, but can I accomplish this with a private IP?

I am following https://documentation.cpanel.net/display/1150Docs/Setup+Remote+MySQL+Server, but it doesn't get into anything like this.

Yes you can, did you have any specific questions regarding why you think you cannot use a private IP

Got it figured out - had a few things that needed corrected before it would complete.

Hello :)

I am happy to see it's now working as expected. Thank you for updating us with the outcome.
