Hi
What would be the proposed best practice to share a large folder to be used across multiple domains

say a large games folder that doesnt get written too really just required game files which are large to be just copied to each domain ( takes massive space for couple users)

so if I host it under /home/games/ ? or under a user and then what permissions are best recognized to be included or symlinked ?

Hey there! This gets asked once in a while, and our standard answer is that this isn't a supported configuration on a cPanel server as it has serious security implications. While there might be a way to make that work, there isn't a safe method I can recommend.

The folder to be shared isnt really of any security concern its public games files, literally public to anyone to download, yet files within an app are to use them
folder size is 50gb
so literally just saving space copying that folder to multiple /user/public_html/games/

The data itself isn't the security issue - it's that in order for users to access that area they would need to have enough permissions to read the system higher than their own /home/user directory, and that opens up many issues.
