As discussed on another 3rd , I have some user on a shared ip . Since they want to install a digital certificate for their domain (https://www.theirdomain.com), I need to move their accounts on a dedicated ips .

Which is the procedure to move an account from shared ip to dedicated ip ? Is it something I can do using whm ?

The only way I know is to delete the account and recreate it with dedicated ip . Is there any other way without closing the account ?

I'm surprized that a long time WHM user like yourself is not familiar with 'Change Site's IP Address' in the root WHM? Have a go using that and you should be OK.

it's something I never used , so I prefer to ask before :D

"Change Site's IP Address" seems to be an utility to change
a dedicated ip address . Reading your post I understand that it's good also to change an account from shared to dedicated ip , ok .

It works a charm! The only catch can be DNS propagation. It may take a day or so to resolve to around the net to the new ip but that's about it.

I have found, since Shared or Dedicated IP is an internal thing, it takes about 2 hrs. (max 12) for the change to kick in. Not exactly sure how it works, but since the Nameservers are not changing (presumable) normal propagation is not involved.

It is true though, that until the change has been updated, the Web site will display the Apache Test page. That is the only drawback I know of.
