    hi

I am having problems with the shared SSL cert. the https://server:2087/ whm and cpanel connections work fine, the https://server/~username/ does not work at all. What is weird is that I can use http://server:443/~username/ and that works fine and like I mentioned above, the https WHM and cPanel connections also work fine.
I tried resetting the cert via WHM but it does not help. it's just the whm genereted cert, resetting and generating a new one via whm has not helped.the https://server:2087/ whm and cpanel connections work fine, the https://server/~username/ does not work at all. In firefox I get a "this connection has terminated unexpectedly, some data may have been transferred" error message and in IE it just doesn't load the site.
Also Main >> Security >> Tweak Security "mod_userdir" is checked.
Any help will much appreciated :D

I know that https://server/~username/ and https://server/~username/index.html are same things but I faced such a wierd problem in which https://server/~username/ was not working and giving me error where when I write any page in the public-html like https://server/~username/testpage.html then it worked fine.Thats why I just told you to check it.

This requires you tick the domain in question to disable mod_userdir protection by clicking on Configure. Did you do this part also?

    :)

setting up an individual cert for the hosted domain in question which requires a dedicated IP, mean installing private ssl for an account and not Shared ssl what I mean to inqury for ???
there is a difference between shared and private ssl. For private ssl and dedicated ip address clients are charged where as they can use the shared ssl for free. using the temporary url .

 so is the query made by me ..

the issue should be pretty obvious by looking at the httpd.conf . apache is bound to port 443 (ssl/https default) but is listening and serving requests via normal http. verify that apache's httpd.conf is configured correctly with an SSL vhost entry for the main ip. if you can't figure that part out, put in a support ticket with whomever you get your license from.
