    shell command

    can anyone help me with a shell command to backup a folder
    i have a quiet large folder name uploads in the public_html/pbtemp/ directory how can i used a shell command to zip the folder or all the content inside the folder name uploads

    You can use

    tar -cvzf file.tar.gz file
