[Shock!] Got 170,000 emails in my inbox

I’ve got 170,000+ emails in my inbox. The inbox file size is 72MB.

Any one has some experience with tons of emails in your inbox?
Yes! I need your help!

I'm already removed the inbox file.
You may know the email tweak settings to prevent this problem in the future.
You may know easier way to prevent this problem.

Please give me some advise.

170,000 emails has a suggestion of spam associated with it. Where many of the messages spam?

Verify the existance of email senders.
Use callouts to verify the existance of email senders

Are they common messages, such as subject, body or sender?
Ensure to disable the default address to your main user.
Setup some filters.

The reason that you have some many emails is probably due to the change of email storage, when i upgraded my all emails were set and retrived even ones i had deleted, shows they are never completed deleted.
