A question came up today as to whether we were supporting windows phones as part of our x4 project. I wanted to put the question out to you our users.

If you do, please DO NOT make just one version that makes even desktop users looks at a horrid interface like Microsoft did with W8.

Yeah, I'm in agreement with you that W8 is weird on a desktop.

Our plans for mobile do not try to mimic mobile behavior on the desktop version of x4. The layouts for desktop will be largely familiar to current desktop uses. When you switch to using x4 with mobile devices, we shift some things around to fit the small screen format. But we do not make the desktop uses suffer through the mobile experience. They are cleanly separate designs specific to the available screen real-estate.

The big challenge with mobile is really more of how broadly to test our mobile views. We initially are only considering IPhone, IPad, and Android platforms.

I'm hoping this poll will give some insight into our users about in this case Windows base phone usage in our market.

I think it might end up being a waste of time to be honest. We all know there is only so much room in the mobile phone market and quite frankly, Android, iPhone, and soon the new Blackberry are going to control the market. I don't see windows phones getting anywhere near as popular. Just my opinion though.

Windows Phone and Blackberry both are not in the dominating position, but still they are used by many of techs for one purpose or other.

We are not talking about an App, right? We are talking about the page rendering from the Phone's browser, in this case you guys should evaluate, how much effort it is going to take and if that worth.

A great product is one which provides seemless experince across the devices/platforms and cPanel should be no exception.

It's closed so I can't vote officially, but I'd say you absolutely need to support it.

I know many people keen to adopt Windows Phone 8 for their next device, particularly as it's second generation handsets hit the market. It is growing nicely having doubled it's market share in the past 12 months and that can only improve as more handsets are made available, more features are added and people tell their friends.

    +1

I have absolutely no desire to have a windows phone myself, but if you're supporting all the other platforms then +1
