Should I redirect my hostname?

Hi,

I have a small VPS.

Server name: example.com
Hostname: server.example.com

When I go to server.example.com, I get my VPS provider default page (standard).

Whats best practices here, should I (not sure I can but should be able to), redirect my hostname to my server name? Or would that mess something up?

Hey there! We don't recommend that you redirect the hostname. It's rare for a user, or anyone, to try and visit a hostname in their browser, and if that is redirected it will cause conflicts for the server.
