Should I reuse the Nameservers when using DNS Clustering?

Hey guys,

We're setting up a 2nd WHM server and had a quick question regarding nameservers and DNS clustering.

We a have a server with the hostname: s1.server.com which has ns1.server.com and ns2.server.com nameservers defined.

We created a new subdomain s2.server.com for the 2nd server's hostname. When we're setting up the 2nd server, should we be entering ns1.server.com and ns2.server.com as the nameservers? or should we create brand new "A" records ns3 and ns4 for the 2nd server? (after which we'll configure DNS clustering)

Thanks!

Without a DNS cluster you'd want to use ns3.server.com and ns4.server.com and give them their own A records that point to the new server.

With A DNS cluster you could take ns1.server.com and ns2.server.com and assign them to the DNS servers, then use them for all the domains on any webserver that's in the same cluster.

I appreciate your response.

And just to clarify, I can keep the new server with its own ns3 and ns4 on after enabling the DNS cluster?

Thanks!
