We have a client who has developed a website hosted elsewhere.
When updating the DNS entries for the domain is the configuration as follows:

domain.com. - A - Remote IP Address
www.domain.com. - CNAME - domain.com
domain.com. - MX - mail.domain.com
mail.domain.com. - A - Local IP address

Thanks.

Hello :),

domain.com. - A - Remote IP Address
www.domain.com. - CNAME - domain.com

Yes, this is correct.
You can also check if there is any specific CNAME record at the remote website builder, then insert it for www.domain.com in the DNS zone.

Hello,

Yes, as mentioned, that's the default configuration. It will work well, however ensure you set the email routing to "Remote Mail Exchanger" via "WHM >> DNS Functions >> Edit MX Entry" on the cPanel server if the email is hosted remotely:

Edit MX Entry - Documentation - cPanel Documentation

Thank you.
