Several months ago, I made a minor addition to the /etc/cpanel_exim_system_filter file. Nothing much, just an "unseen deliver" command at the bottom.

Today, I removed that bit of scripting, and restarted Exim. But for some reason, it still ran the code!

So, I rebooted the server (twice), and... it's still running the code.

How in the world can this be? Is there a copy of cpanel_exim_system_filter somewhere other than at /etc/ that I've forgotten about??

Any thoughts would be seriously appreciated :)

Check the system_filter directive in /etc/exim.conf. It may be pointing at a different file.

No, it still points to /etc/cpanel_exim_system_filter. Good though, though.

Can you tell me how many lines are in the default file? Mine has 281 lines, including the blank line at the end. I'm guessing that there's an error here somewhere that's causing the whole file to be rejected, but I can't imagine why.

The permissions are set to 0644 on mine. Is that correct, too?
