I'm in the process of migrating from an old server running cpanel on FC4 to a new server running cpanel on FreeBSD 6.3/AMD64
I've managed to migrate 90% of the sites from the old server without anyproblems using the site transfer option in cpanel, the other sites which failed to transfer a cross all suffer from the same problem.
The site files, db's etc transfer across just fine, then the script gets into a loop when changing all instances of the old servers IP address from the dns zone file, I've had a look at the dns zone files for each of the domains & there's anything out of the ordinary inside

    eg:
    Code:
; Modified by Web Host Manager
    ; Zone File for mydomain.com
    $TTL 14400
    @	86400	IN	SOA	ns1.mydomain.net. admin.mydomain.com.	(
    					2008011001
    					86400
    					7200
    					3600000
    					86400
    					)

    mydomain.com.	86400	IN	NS	ns1.mydomain.net.
    mydomain.com.	86400	IN	NS	ns2.mydomain.net.

    mydomain.com.	14400	IN	A	30.30.30.30

    localhost.mydomain.com.	14400	IN	A	127.0.0.1

    mydomain.com.	14400	IN	MX	0	mydomain.com.

    mail	14400	IN	CNAME	mydomain.com.
    www	14400	IN	CNAME	mydomain.com.
    ftp	14400	IN	CNAME	mydomain.com.
    cp	14400	IN	CNAME	mydomain.com.
    vpn	14400	IN	A	30.30.30.30

Anyone else come across this problem?

We found that DNS Zones dont always come with the rest, which is a real pain in the backside.

I can't remember how we fixed it now! :$

    Sorry

I cant believe so many people have bought into this product, I did try to get the client to move away but was unsuccessful, 8 bug report filed on the first day of use & I cringe as I go on.
    Nice one!

surely bug reports which are confirmed by your developers are much better??

Any bug repairs will need to propagate through the builds starting at EDGE. If you submit a support ticket directly to cPanel, you may not need to wait as long to have this issue resolved on your server.

This was a problem specific to FreeBSD and is fixed in the latest EDGE builds and will propagate to the other branches over time. If your build number is greater than or equal to 20246, then your cPanel install has the fix.
