Anyone know what would cause sleeping processes in apache to not die off. latley i have noticed where everything will be fine then the sleeping processes hit 1000 and then the load shoots up.

If i restart apache the load drops right back down to normal and sleeping processes fall to between 100 and 200.

    any ideas?

anyone know how to set a cron to restart apache evey so often and even more often durring certian hours?

Thanks for any help anyone can give.
