Hi Everyone,
My dedicated server is really taking a long time to boot now, it used to take around 10 minutes for a full reboot. Now it can take over an hour +, i installed two new things recently. I installed a mailscanner and i enabled block lists within CSF. I have just rebooted the server and an hour later it still has not fully cycled? What could be causing this please?

Thanks

Hard to say without being able to see the output at boot time. Generally I would say its doing an fsck but it should not do that EVERY time.

Do you have access to the KVM?

that is not really helpful
But just guessing are you saying that it takes an hour & a half to load your IP tables
If so you may have have to many rules.

do you have Faststart enabled in csf?
Do you have ipset installed

you can bypass csf by disabling before a reboot
csf -x

after reboot you can run
csf -e

As @dalem is suggesting the configuration of CSF should be modified to enable faststart, but it shouldn't take hours to load unless you have a ton of stuff (including countries) blocked.
