I'm having problems with clients connecting to the IMAP server with outlook express. At the beginning of the session, it seems that their clients have to wait up to 1 minute before cpanel (the server) let's them check the mail. Any ideas? I know it might be a reverse DNS problem, but no hints on how to solve it. Thanks.

Remove the following 2 lines from /etc/xinetd.d/cpimap

    log_on_success += USERID
    log_on_failure += USERID

    Then reload the xinetd configuration

    /etc/init.d/xinetd reload

That should take care of your problem.

BTW, are there any security problems now? I don't have many people using IMAP, but just in case...
    Thanks anyway.

No, all those lines do is tell xinetd to do an ident query and write the response to the log file. Ident queries are generally useless for identifying a remote connection. Most computers don't even respond, that's why you get a long delay, and even if they do the response can be made to be whatever they want.
