I have searched the forums but am still lost as to how to deal with this issue. I have Exim configured to automatically use a domains dedicated ip address in the SMTP Banner. That works fine.
The problem is with my shared ip address. My shared ip address is not the same as the server ip. I have rdns setup for the shared ip.
RDNS Entries(Just examples)
server ip: 1.1.1.1.1 server.hostname
shared ip: 1.1.1.1.2 shared.server.hostname
The problem is Exim is using the server name instead of the shared ip name in the SMTP Banner. when sending mail.
Naturally this creates a problem with some mail systems.
So while cPanel/Exim properly assigns the ip/domain and the SMTP Banner. on dedicated ip, it does not for the shared ip. It uses the the proper ip, but defaults to the server name for the SMTP Banner.. Anyone know how I can fix this?
